Integration & Control Portfolio
The Challenge...
The basement and ground floor of a Georgian townhouse in South Kensington were being converted into a luxury duplex apartment. As the project was for a developer it was important that the installation added to the value of the property and was flexible enough to meet the requirements of the purchaser.
MULTI-ROOM ENTERTAINMENT
A Living Control multi-room system was installed in the principal rooms to control music and TV. In-ceiling speakers were installed where possible so they didn’t intrude on the décor. In the main living space, due to the ceiling height and original features, this wasn’t possible. We supplied small speakers that were mounted in the corners, these were spray painted to match the colour of the walls.
Screens were flush mounted in walls and cabinetry in the kitchen and bedrooms.
HOME CINEMA
A flat screen based home cinema was installed in one room. The screen and front speakers were flush mounted into cabinetry; the cabinetry also housed the equipment for the rest of the apartment.
THE RESULT
Entertainment systems of this type are becoming standard in properties at this level. As a design led project it was important that the entertainment was as unobtrusive as possible. The apartment was featured in the Property section of the Daily Telegraph in January 2008
